"Fire Prayer Conference", Carlow, Ireland (4th- 6th April 2008)

Report

It was a great joy for Gayle and I to be at the “Fire Prayer conference” in Carlow Ireland at “God’s house of prayer for all Nations”. The people there were very receptive and hospitable and we both thoroughly enjoyed being there and spending time with them.

The meetings were small, with several churches represented, but God was in the house, moving and stirring the hearts of the people into new dimensions of prayer. We felt that the people there had such a hunger for revival and unity for the nation in their hearts, this was apparent in the intercessory prayer time before and again during the meetings when they poured out their hearts before the Lord.

It was a full programme for Gayle, arriving Friday afternoon and then preaching on Friday evening with three sessions on Saturday and then again on Sunday morning, and all that after a bout of Meningitis which she was still recovering from.

The meetings didn’t go quite according to plans, God had other ideas and the message that Gayle brought forth is exactly what they needed to hear. There was no boxing in of the Holy Spirit, or watching the time, as people hung on to every word that Gayle spoke.

At the altar call nearly every person came forward as the Holy Spirit challenged them to recommit themselves to their prayer life. People have been convicted to move out of their comfort zone and into the City as the Holy Spirit releases his strategy to them so that people’s needs are met. We must remain spiritually minded as well as practical. The Lost need the Gospel of Jesus Christ on legs. They need the real Jesus.

A few testimonies from the weekend:

1. I have now become more disciplined & responsible for my prayer life. I am praying under the influence of the Holy Spirit rather than a fear of man.

2. Entire weekend of conviction. I was challenged about spending more time with my Heavenly Father. It’s about quality time, not quantity.

3. Gayle is an encourager and exhorter of the word of God. I was challenged to revalue my heart – where my value for souls is. As Gayle said, “seeing the Lost through the eyes of the Cross”
