The sun was setting over the metropolitan city of Finland, Helsinki! Smiling faces returned to the Salam Church where our crusade was taking place. Tired but satisfied, the street-workers returned, sharing exciting stories of open hearts, wonderful conversations and salvations.

Everyone agreed that taking the roses as a contact point for ‘friendship evangelism’ was a hit! (Something the leaders were not so sure about when I first suggested it prior to the outreach). VIC sponsored the 2,000 roses, which the 500 or so street-workers gave out during the three days. Every afternoon between 60-100 people went out preaching the gospel on the streets - a first time experience for many of them!

Night after night, the building filled with up to 2,000 people from all walks of life! Rich, poor, young, old, religious and from the occult! Some sick in body, some in spirit and mind! Jesus was there to meet their needs, like only He can do!

The aisle and space at the front, were totally overcrowded, as a sea of people, including many young people, streamed forward, in response to the preaching - either for first time salvation or to re-dedicate their lives; some weeping before the Lord, while heaven was rejoicing!

The impact of the Word went far beyond those church walls, as many watched by live stream on the internet, following every step of the service.

The morning seminars were powerful, with great impact to the 400 people attending, as both Gayle and I ministered. Many being leaders and pastors wanting to hear about practical evangelism for their local church in their neighbourhood.

In the last meeting, one young man deeply involved in the occult, with satanic signs and earrings; was suddenly healed of a severe back disease. When the altar call was made for salvation, I personally watched him jump over the benches to get to the front as fast as he could. He wept his way to the Lord.
